High Ties Cannabis Store, Ottawa ON
I visited High Ties on Rideau to buy a vape battery that my regular store didn't carry. My first visit was positive: a friendly clerk greeted me with a big smile, and although they didn't have the item I wanted on that day, they offered alternatives. Before I left, the clerk informed me about their price-matching policy, making me glad I'd stopped by. My second visit, however, was entirely different. This clerk was busy chatting on his phone and didn't greet me as I entered. He disappeared and returned, still on his phone, to let me through the stanchion. As I left after paying for my battery, he remained on the phone and made no effort to assist me in exiting. I didn't know how to open the stanchion, so I budged a post aside to squeeze through and leave. The clerk suddenly yelled at me for not putting the post back, and followed me outside, shouting that I should have waited. He then threatened me with physical violence and hollered out that I was banned from the store. I guess that was my reward for choosing their business to make a purchase? It was quite surreal. I contacted High Ties to express my concerns about the incident, and I was fortunate enough to reach the manager, Theresa, at another location. She listened attentively, was profusely apologetic, assured me that I was not banned, promised I would receive an apology from this employee, and offered a 25% discount at any High Ties. Upbeat, friendly, positive, attentive vibe from the staff. Prices are competitive, and the range of choices are wide. I've been quite pleased with the very potent vape products I've purchased here. I'll definitely be making return visits.

While the store atmosphere, layout, and music were all great, and the staff was friendly during my visit—the checkout was a challenge. As I was about to pay, the employee asked me to join their rewards club, which I did, giving my name and phone number. However, when I tried to pay with my debit card, I was faced with a confusing tip menu on the screen, requiring several taps and screens to navigate. The small text only added to my frustration, and I ended up needing the employee's assistance to make sense of the menu and complete the payment process. Apparently you can't just "tap and go" here. After finally being able to pay, I regretted joining and sharing my personal information, as I'm not sure to return after this.

I had a disappointing experience at this cannabis dispensary a while back. The person seated near the entrance, seemingly responsible for security, did not create a welcoming atmosphere. Rather than greeting me or standing up from the couch, he appeared absorbed in his own activities, showing little regard for customers entering the shop. This lack of acknowledgment made me feel more like an unwelcome guest rather than a valued customer. Despite my few visits to this dispensary, this employee's consistent failure to establish a comfortable and inviting environment has made me hesitant to return. I hope the dispensary management takes this feedback to heart and emphasizes to all staff the importance of attitude and actions in creating a positive customer experience.

Go Green Cannabis Co, Gloucester ON
I had a frustrating experience at Go Green Ottawa East a while back. Despite their website advertising a discount on 510 vapes for 'Shazam Saturday,' the clerk refused to honor it, claiming they didn't offer those deals anymore. After returning home and confirming that the website did indeed show the specials, I made a second trip to the store. The staff honored the discount, but only after I insisted they check the website and acknowledge their error. While I appreciate that Go Green resolved the issue, this experience has made me hesitant to return. I urge Go Green to ensure their staff are familiar with current promotions and to honor advertised discounts without customers having to fight for them.
