| I visited High Ties on Rideau to buy a vape battery that my regular store didn't carry. My first visit was positive: a friendly clerk greeted me with a big smile, and although they didn't have the item I wanted on that day, they offered alternatives. Before I left, the clerk informed me about their price-matching policy, making me glad I'd stopped by.
My second visit, however, was entirely different. This clerk was busy chatting on his phone and didn't greet me as I entered. He disappeared and returned, still on his phone, to let me through the stanchion. As I left after paying for my battery, he remained on the phone and made no effort to assist me in exiting. I didn't know how to open the stanchion, so I budged a post aside to squeeze through and leave.
The clerk suddenly yelled at me for not putting the post back, and followed me outside, shouting that I should have waited. He then threatened me with physical violence and hollered out that I was banned from the store. I guess that was my reward for choosing their business to make a purchase? It was quite surreal.
I contacted High Ties to express my concerns about the incident, and I was fortunate enough to reach the manager, Theresa, at another location. She listened attentively, was profusely apologetic, assured me that I was not banned, promised I would receive an apology from this employee, and offered a 25% discount at any High Ties.
