The worst customer experience I have ever had at any Canna Cabana location.
Firstly, allow me to start off by giving you some context. I am on AISH Medical, and have been diagnosed with a litany of mental health illnesses, that include: Major Depression, Severe Anxiety, CPTSD, and Sleep Insomnia. (I am also ex-military) These illnesses are so bad that I am unable to work a normal or part time job.
When I came into your location here in Brentview, in which I also live about a 5 minute walk away, I was tired and exhausted. I only got an hour of sleep the night before and 3-4 hours of sleep a day for about a week before that day. The day in question was on the 25th of April 2025 at around 1130 hours.
AMENDMENT: This happened on the 20th of April 2025, my 46th Birthday. I remembered because my landlord gave me 46 dollars for my birthday. Happy 46th birthday to me, huh?
I was highly irritable at the time coming into the store, and any amount of noise was making my head throb and pound. When I entered, there was a person (NOT a gentleman) of African American descent who had dreads and an eye stigmatism. He asked me if I needed any help and I replied, 'Just peace and quiet please.' I could tell he was a little bewildered by my statement.
I was looking around the store to find a good deal on some cannabis, and about 1 minute after he was standing at the side of the counter, looked at me and then said, 'I'm sorry, but did you say peace and quiet.' And then I replied, 'Y ..
Not understanding this. Very friendly guys, and a big choice of things. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
I am a regular customer at Canna Cabanna and visit the Varsity branch at least once a week. The staff there are always friendly and kind. Since the opening of the Brentwood branch, I have also started visiting there when the Varsity branch is out of stock on my favorite items.
During my visit today, I inquired about a particular item, but the staff asked to see my ID before they could confirm if it was in stock. I replied that I had my ID with me and would show it if I decided to make a purchase, but the staff insisted that they needed to see it first. I expressed my frustration, stating that I didn't want to show my ID just to find out they didn't have the item; if they didn't have it, it would be easier for me to just leave.
In the end, I had to show my ID just to learn that they did not have the item in stock. I think it's important to teach your new staff some manners. The law clearly states that cannabis cannot be sold to minors, right? Additionally, when providing stock information over the phone can you check the id of the customer? But you share that anyway right? Then why would you force someone to show ID if you don't have the item in stock? This experience was quite frustrating. BTW I am 32 and my frustration towards this type of attitude is completely valid.
I have supported canna cabana since they opened. I have gone out of my way to go there when there is a closer store "plantlife" by my house. Recently I went to the store returned a faulty item and the store worker told me the money would be directly back onto my card Immediately. So I thought I'd buy something else to replace the faulty vape. Upon buying another product and leaving the store I went to get some groceries. Much to my dismay the money was not on my card and I had just spent what little grocery money I had. Being on a fixed wcb pension this caused me to go with out food. They did nothing for me.
