I came to this store to buy something and found a handwritten note on the door saying "Back in 15 minutes."
That turned into over 30 minutes, with four customers standing outside in -30°C weather like it was some kind of social experiment.
When the staff member finally showed up, there was no apology, no embarrassment and just a terrible attitude. Half-hearted responses, constant sighing, and a tone that suggested the customers were somehow the problem, or not smart enough to be dealing with.
To be clear I'm fully capable of reading a clock, thinking logically, and understanding basic human interaction apparently more so than the person working there. I smiled, said "okay" to everything, and left just to avoid extending the interaction any further.
Overall, the service was impressively bad.
Not just unprofessional, but awkwardly, almost comically bad.
Every once in a while you run into an experience that reminds you the world is a strange place and this was one of those moments.
