I have been a loyal, weekly customer at this location for over four years, but after my experience today, I will not be returning.
I attempted to show my ID for my regular purchase, holding it up clearly for the staff. The manager on duty began shouting at me, demanding to physically hold my ID. When I explained that I wasn't feeling a 100% well and preferred to hold it myself to avoid spreading germs, she became extremely confrontational. Despite me being a regular face and complying with the age-verification check, she flat-out refused service, stating, "I'm the manager and I'm not serving you."
It is disappointing to see a business hide behind a "paper note" policy to justify poor treatment of long-term patrons. The manager's aggressive behavior and lack of empathy felt targeted and unprofessional. If you are a person of color or a long-time customer expecting basic respect, I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. Management here would rather power-trip over a plastic card than provide decent customer service.
