You're Always Welcome At Canna Cabana!
Since 2009 we’ve been dreaming up spaces for Cannabis lovers to feel at home. As smokers ourselves, we were sick and tired of sketchy alleys leading to bargain basements that made us feel like we were doing something wrong.
Canadians deserved something better, and so we opened our first Smoker’s Corner head shop in downtown Calgary that same year. Finally a bright, clean, welcoming place where marijuana enthusiasts could gather and geek out about cannabis culture – weed, bongs, pipes, vaporizers and our love of the plant!
After legalization, we knew we wanted to bring that same vibe to selling Cannabis (man, sometimes we still can’t believe it’s finally legal).
Canna Cabana was created for people who loved weed (still do) and want to buy it, smoke it, and talk about it in a playful, safe environment. We call that a Cabana and we built it for you!

Absolutely awful experience.
Staff followed me around uncomfortably close (less than a foot away), rushing me and not allowing me to look at their selection. Both staff members were excessivly rude to me this evening.
They also denied my husband access. While I do understand ID policy, he is visibly well over the age the government requires to check ID. That's fine. I understand that.
I was so uncomfortable with my experience I will never return to this location. I've never been talked down to by staff like today.
Honestly, honey pot isn't that far away. Save yourself the disrespect and go there. At least you'll be treated like a paying customer
Terrible location. Staff are trash and extraordinarily rude for no reason. They follow you around and get in your personal space. I've never been to a canabis store where the staff do this and make customers intentionally uncomfortable. I being in my 40's have also never been ID'd at the door because I'm visibly my age... the staff however, acted as if I was some 12 year old child who hired an FX makeup artist to make me appear older just so I can buy weed products lol. What a complete joke. That being said, I understand this may be a policy, but being rude to paying customers is never a policy anywhere. Ever. Based on this visit I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Even if I'm at the Costco and it's the most convenient location (which is the only reason i found myself here), I will be going out of the way for better service at another store.
For anyone reading this review.. Honey Pot just across the bridge in the Walmart plaza is so much nicer and the staff are lovely! If you're headed Fonthill way, Grand Canabis is always a treat and their staff/selection is also superior to this awful location. Basically, ANY canabis store would be better. I work hard for my money. Where I spend it matters to me. I expect better.
This Canna Cabana store is the worst cannabis store in the Niagara region and beyond, from their policies to their pricing schemes, it's the poorest experience you can subject yourself to.
The "membership model" described by the owner's reply is a waste of time & money in my opinion - my friends don't like it either - only inexperienced cannabis shoppers can be fooled by Canna Cabana's pricing schemes.
If I'm not mistaken, Canna Cabana displays sensitivity & defensiveness about their polices, because they've been in hot water in the past, which substantiates how poorly run this business is. Following the law is important, but ask yourself why I don't feel the same about the majority of other stores that I have been to; you won't find another cannabis store with such a scathing review from me. The other stores are just as safe if not safer; I don't appreciate the sly fear mongering from this store owner's reply. I will not visit again, until there is signs of positive improvements; perhaps new ownership, or at least acknowledgement of improving upon the poor experiences, and improving on the inferior operational practices the owner is visibly defending in their reply.
Anyone with dignity who wants to "experience the benefits and value" will go elsewhere for greater levels of those; Canna Cabana sets the bar real low as far as benefits and value are concerned.
The staff is nice, and the prices are decent. But that's where the good news ends. The selection is far less than even other Canna Cabana locations.
The absolute worst is the absurd line ups they have to get in. It's the only store that checks every single persons ID when they come in. But for reasons never explained, they don't have anyone working the door. Other Canna Cabana locations have a security guard at the doors but those locations don't check everyone's ID. Added to this is that this location is always under staffed, two people doing one on one sales and checking the door means you are waiting to get in and your product once inside is like you'd would be waiting for bread in the Soviet Union.
Frankly it's just not worth the disrespect that this location shows to their customers time. Go elsewhere and even if you pay a little more, you'll save a bunch of time.
Great products (straight from OCS), great customer service I had a "skinny white kid with glasses" (as another reviewer put it) serve me, he was helpful, kind, and nice to me. Maybe because I was kind to him (treat people how you want to be treated). I'm not sure why this place is getting bad reviews I have been using cannabis before it was legal, I've been to many… people.. and now shops. The availability of Cannabis is legal and now ~$110 an ounce instead of ~$160-$220, anyways, love the store keep the stock up, especially the concentrates fridge ;) thanks for everything, love the elite membership too!
