Let’s be real – it’s an exciting time in the world of cannabis, but with legalization, this world we’ve come to know is rapidly changing.
Gone are the simple days of doobies, Thai Stick, and hotknifing. Instead we’ve turned towards futuristic cannabis technologies with some pretty offputting names – nanoemulsion, aeroponics, transdermal permeation enhancers, and whatever HC/HTFSE stands for.
It’s like WHAM! Suddenly your dealer is a licensed storefront, not a guy fumbling through baggies in a Subaru Impreza. If you’re pining for the days when things were a bit more down-to-earth – when businesses didn’t prioritize aesthetics over friendly, dependable service – Hive Cannabis is here for you.
A small-scale, BC-based cannabis retailer, Hive is a place where you can feel free to revel in all there is to love about cannabis and interact with others who are just as buzzed about bud as you are.
We’re saying no to “pretentious” and yes to “personal,” taking it back to the basics:
- A warm, inviting interior.
- Friendly staff who know your name.
- Service with a smile.
- Oodles of knowledge and support.
- A tight knit community, both online and offline.
If that sounds as good to you as it does to us, we can’t wait to meet you.
Welcome to the Hive!

I love this place. It's my go to because their bud is a little cheaper than BCCannabis Stores. The staff are super friendly, I love going in just to spit back and forth on new products, what's coming out, what's going on within the industry.
Why only 4 out of 5?
I did have 1 bad experience BUT I can't blame the store for it. This is an industry problem, a bit of me not checking the packaging or asking the right questions.
What was the problem?
Old stock.
I thought I was getting "new stock" when I purchased this Girl Scout Cookies Forum Cut. Super disappointed to find out the bud was almost a year and half old. Pure dust. Again, not a specific store problem but an industry problem because they're offloaded old stock and have to move it.
Now you're probably asking yourself "How can I avoid this sort of thing happening to me?"
Very simple.
Ask the budtender behind the counter(assuming you know what you're after), and ask
"Hey, what new stock is in store?"
Normally they'll show off some new stuff that has just been brought in. I've been extremely lucky and have showed up the day new stock gets pulled in. It's honestly a night and day difference from "Blind buying" a product that's just on the shelf.
What if something catches your eye on the shelf?
Simple.
Ask them
"When was this product packaged?"
They'll tell you because it's typically slapped right on the back when the item has been packaged. Always aim for something that has come out within the past month or so. An ..
The employees are always friendly, knowledgeable, and help provide and maintain a comforting atmosphere in which to browse products. Every visit feels like popping by a friend's place for a visit. I've built wonderful rapport with the employees (shout-out to the one who always compliments my nails!) and highly recommend this location for their expertise and welcoming vibes. Thank you ♡💨
I had a really disappointing experience here. The staff member who helped me was condescending and completely unhelpful. I asked for a good 14g sativa at a reasonable price, and he just pointed at the display case without offering any suggestions or information.
When I asked about infused joints, something I'd never purchased before, my lack of knowledge seemed to frustrate him. Instead of explaining or helping me understand the options, he became even shorter and more dismissive. It got to the point where I said forget it and just bought my flower so I could leave.
This person had gray hair and a long gray beard, and honestly, he's doing a disservice to the business. I've been here about six times since moving into the neighborhood, but this experience was enough for me. I won't be back. I'll be going to Cheeky's in Mission from now on, they're always friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.
No longer price matches. Long time patron, who would travel long distances to go here for that. Welp, better shops elsewhere (close too)
This store has gone down hill in the past couple years. I used to shop here 1-2 times per week, but I will not step foot in this store anymore. The staff are very rude, they don't price match anymore, and the prices are always more expensive than anywhere else. If I am looking for a specific product now and it's a choice between this store or one in Mission, then I will drive to Mission now to get it and I live 5 minutes away from this Hive location...
