You're Always Welcome At Canna Cabana!
Since 2009 we’ve been dreaming up spaces for Cannabis lovers to feel at home. As smokers ourselves, we were sick and tired of sketchy alleys leading to bargain basements that made us feel like we were doing something wrong.
Canadians deserved something better, and so we opened our first Smoker’s Corner head shop in downtown Calgary that same year. Finally a bright, clean, welcoming place where marijuana enthusiasts could gather and geek out about cannabis culture – weed, bongs, pipes, vaporizers and yes… even getting high!
After legalization, we knew we wanted to bring that same vibe to selling legal Cannabis (man, sometimes we still can’t believe it).
Canna Cabana was created for people who loved weed (still do) and want to buy it, smoke it, and talk about it in a playful, safe environment. We call that a Cabana and we built it for you!

I have never in my life been refused with a valid government issued ID at this location. I am beyond baffled by the way I was treated by Brody the Manager. Accused me of being intoxicated and laughing at me when I asked to speak to someone of higher authority. I will never be going to this location again, I seriously hope Brody gets spoken to because that is not how you treat a customer. I kept my calm and he laughed and raised his voice. NOT OKAY!!
Dear [Manager/Supervisor],
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Michael Dawe, and I am writing on behalf of my wife, who recently had an uncomfortable experience at Cana Cabana's Bonnie Doon location on January 27, 2025, around 12:30 PM. This incident involved one of your service workers, Brody, during the ID verification process.
While she fully understands the necessity of showing ID for compliance and responsible service, she felt that Brody's approach was overly aggressive and unprofessional. During her visit, he took an unusually long time examining her identification, which made her feel increasingly anxious.
Adding to her discomfort, she was alone with Brody in the store when he informed her that he was the only one working. When she requested to speak to a supervisor, this response only heightened her fear about the situation and made her eager to leave as soon as possible. It felt intimidating, and she was left feeling vulnerable during the interaction.
As a result of his prolonged scrutiny, she became nervous about him having access to her personal information, including her address. His demeanor felt more like an intimidation tactic rather than a standard verification process. As her husband, it is concerning to me that she had to endure this experience, especially as a woman who was subjected to what felt like a power trip.
I am sure that this experience has happened to others, particularly other women, and it makes me feel ill to think about t ..
It's a good store the employees are good but I don't like how the company asks you for your email address and phone number or who they may be sharing or giving or selling that information too
So disappointed with how downhill Canna Cabana has gone. Raising the prices, blocking casual users from purchasing treats because they don't want to pay $35 for an "elite membership" (you're not Costco if you can't even make sure you have proper stock smh), and smaller selection than ever. I've supported the company for years (and this store too) but I'm not going to a Canna Cabana ever again. I was not the only one shocked by the changes and other patrons were upset and confused products they love were no longer attainable unless they pay a fee. Buy your weed from one of the many other dispensaries in the area that won't make you pay a stupid fee. Don't waste your money on these guys.
One year ago today I remember coming in for my shift on Monday September 4th 2023 and seeing that sewage was pouring down from the roof from a busted pipe. My coworker was soaked from head to toe because the area manager was more concerned about keeping the store open than anybody's health or safety.
This company needs better management.
