It's wild how many still support places that mistreat staff. A 1.9-star rating from current and former employees says it all. But keep funding it!
They ignore experienced, qualified applicants on purpose—ignorance is easier to control.
Edit: I know people from the Langley location who had nothing good to say, and others with actual cannabis retail experience who were overlooked so you could hire someone with zero. Not naming names, but it's a pattern.
High turnover, constant complaints about toxic management and drama. Stop with the fake online image and fix the real issues.
Multiple staff have spoken about bullying, power trips, and being treated like "creatures" by owners. At least 6 people have left in the last 2 years and left reviews on Indeed. That doesn't include others who quit quietly, warning everyone else to avoid UEM too.
Was a customer, haven't supported since as I can't support a business treating their staff badly! Keeping a few staff for a few years also doesn't mean at all, that the workplace couldn't be toxic.
Absolute rip off. Forgot my vape battery and unfortunately came here. Was charged almost $28 for a Kodo battery. EVERYWHERE else has them for $16 or under. Guy tried to explain the high price due to the vape tax…there is no vape tax on the batteries!!! I was in a rush and didn't have time to shop around. All flash and no substance at UEM
I have had a fairly great experience with the bud tenders that have helped me out whenever I stop by for some prerolls on occasion but theres this other guy who works there i think a manager maybe who has a super off putting angry aura who always watches our interactions with some very judgemental expressions and body language. Kinda makes me feel unwelcome sometimes when he's there. I feel bad for the employees
I have been visiting this place off and on for a couple years now, great service from the budtenders very polite all star crew. I can't say the same tho for a member of the managerial staff I have finally learned goes by the name of "Lee". I have seen this "Lee" in the store a handful of times treating staff like complete garbage in front of everyone and making situations awkward for customers, he does not acknowledge customers and will rudely budge by you if you are waiting in a line. When he's in the store I feel highly uncomfortable and I can sense that with everyone else in the room aswell. If you are looking for a reliable dispensary that treats people like people go anywhere but here
Update: I see the owner has taken a moment to reply saying I'm "lying" and trying to smear my review... Thess incidents have been ongoing especially for the past 6 months, the last one for me was over 3 weeks ago, I recently learned Lee's name and took it upon myself to place a review here to warn others. I see the owners do nothing but discredit anyone who is critical of the way they treat people, this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with respect of customers and employees alike. Learn some manners.
I've been coming here since opening day, and it's still my favourite spot! The budtenders are genuinely some of the best—always friendly, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth. The vibe is chill, the selection of bud and accessories is top-notch, and the service never misses. Love this place and the people who run it!
