| On August 20th, 2023 around 5:30pm, my daughter visited the store to try something more homeopathic for her severe anxiety disorder that she has been struggling with since her mother passed and left in tears. She waited patiently for help as I accompanied her on the phone, and no one tried to assist her. Multiple other people entered the store after her and were helped. When she finally said to me "let's see how long it takes for someone to help me" one of the male employees approached her and immediately was upset telling her she was bad mouthing them when she really just wanted help. She turned to walked away to avoid further conflict and was met by a racial slur from the male employee. A female employee tried to calm him down with no success. His hostile and aggressive attitude was unacceptable and completely unnecessary. We will not be returning and we will be letting our friends and family know this store does not welcome people from ethnic backgrounds, as my family and immigrated here from Panama so I could further my career in neuroscience. Hopefully in the future the store will push for more of a welcoming and inclusive environment so other young people just looking for help can have an enjoyable experience despite everyday issues they already have to deal with. |
