| I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Fika in the Distillery District on August 7 around 8:30 PM. My husband couldn't come inside because he didn't have his ID, so I went in alone to purchase a cannabis drink. I asked the staff member if I could pay cash, and he said yes. I didn't have exact change, so my husband passed me a $10 bill from outside.
At that moment, the staff member suddenly became extremely loud and rude, saying things like "you're on camera" and "you can't take money" in a very disrespectful tone. He refused to sell me the drink, even though I followed the rules and had valid ID. His behavior felt discriminatory and completely unprofessional.
I've never been treated so badly at a business in Toronto, and it left me feeling unwelcome and humiliated. Management needs to address this kind of conduct — no customer should experience such disrespect. |
