| I recently visited your Pembina location in Winnipeg and had an experience I would like to bring to your attention. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by an employee, who was blonde and pony tail bun and while browsing, the same employee approached my friend and me to check our IDs. I presented my valid ID, but my friend did not had his.
My friend immediately indicated they would leave the store, but the employee then asked both of us to leave. I explained multiple times that I was not there to purchase cannabis—just browsing—while another friend was purchasing a nicotine vape. Despite this, I was still asked to leave the store.
I understand and fully respect your ID verification policies. However, I do not believe there is a clear policy stating that a customer with valid ID must leave simply because someone they are with does not have ID, especially if that person has already agreed to leave.
I believe this situation could have been handled with better customer service and communication. I encourage management to provide additional training to staff on handling such situations professionally and respectfully, ensuring customers who follow policy are not unnecessarily turned away. |
