They keep a significant portion of their products behind a paywall, essentially forcing you to cough up a $35/year subscription fee just to access them.
Their official justification? "Our Elite Membership program offers exclusive pricing on a select group of products, in line with both company policy and provincial regulations. These rules limit us from offering certain discounted items to non-Elite members."
Seriously? Did it ever cross their minds to just charge market price for these "exclusive" items instead of alienating a huge chunk of potential customers? It's baffling. The claim that "provincial regulations" force them to hide discounts behind a paywall, while "hundreds of other great products" are available, doesn't make the paywall any less frustrating.
I walked out, went to another dispensary, and found the exact same product without any hassle, no subscription, no annual fee, just a straightforward transaction. Save yourself the frustration and your hard-earned money. There are plenty of other stores that actually want your business without making you jump through hoops or sign up for an "Elite Membership." |
