I was having drinks and watching the Oilers game nearby, and while waiting for my truck to warm up, I walked into Cana Cabana to browse their products. I saw a few things I liked, especially Mission Launch Control by Space Race Cannabis.
When I went to buy it, the skinny guy at the counter told me he couldn't sell it to me because I wasn't an "exclusive member." I told him I'd pay the regular price that was listed right next to it, but he still refused, saying he physically couldn't sell it to me.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I have to pay a fee just for the privilege of spending my own money here? The only place I've ever paid for a membership is Costco—and at least there, I get warehouse-sized quantities at a good price. If you're not going to do the same, fix your ridiculous policy, Cana Cabana. If your going to have a regular price posted next to it and not let me purchase it for the 'regular price' then take that shit down.
Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere.
As a matter of fact the law states
" If a store displays both a "regular price" and a "member price," a reasonable consumer would expect to be able to purchase the product at the regular price without any extra requirements.
If they refuse to sell it at that price, it could be seen as bait-and-switch tactics, which are illegal under the Competition Act in Canada.
(P.S.) It smells like sewage in there
