My Experience with Sessions Cannabis Management and Staff
I started working at Sessions Cannabis at the end of July, and from the very first day, I noticed the store was quieter than I was used to. My initial impression of the work environment was that it was slow-paced, but what truly stood out to me was the way I was made to feel by the management and staff.
From my first shift with one of the supervisors, I got a sense that I wasn't welcome. There was a constant feeling that they didn't like me, based on the way they would stare at me, almost as if they were suspicious of me. I tried to stay reserved, only engaging in conversation when someone else initiated it. Despite this, I never felt comfortable at work. The atmosphere made me so anxious that I would cry right before my shifts and even during breaks, feeling completely left out.
The hardest part for me was when I went through an extremely rough week at home, both legally and medically. If any of the other staff had gone through what I did, they would've taken time off work. When I visited the store to make a purchase a few days ago, I noticed how fake the interactions were. The manager greeted me with a smile, but when I asked to speak with her over the phone about why I was fired without any notice, her tone shifted. She was rude and defensive, which confused me—shouldn't I be the one upset about losing my job?
