You're Always Welcome At Canna Cabana!
Since 2009 we’ve been dreaming up spaces for Cannabis lovers to feel at home. As smokers ourselves, we were sick and tired of sketchy alleys leading to bargain basements that made us feel like we were doing something wrong.
Canadians deserved something better, and so we opened our first Smoker’s Corner head shop in downtown Calgary that same year. Finally a bright, clean, welcoming place where marijuana enthusiasts could gather and geek out about cannabis culture – weed, bongs, pipes, vaporizers and yes… even getting high!
After legalization, we knew we wanted to bring that same vibe to selling legal Cannabis (man, sometimes we still can’t believe it).
Canna Cabana was created for people who loved weed (still do) and want to buy it, smoke it, and talk about it in a playful, safe environment. We call that a Cabana and we built it for you!

Emily the shift manager told my girlfriend that I had to leave the pub to present my ID. I did so and then was still refused service because I had ONE beer and she could smell it. I understand if I was falling over, slurring my words ect but I wasn't. I have a proserve too and it clearly states that service should be denied if the customer is obviously handicapped, not based off smell alone. Ridiculous and rude service from a jobsworth having a bad night
My wife and I stopped for a quick Tesla charge (beside the building) around 11 am on Sunday. We were pleased to see a dispensary we could kill a few minutes at. I always love seeing what each shop has.
We walked inside and were the only ones there for a few minutes. Finally, a lady came from the back. She seemed extremely pissed that we interrupted whatever she was doing in the back. My wife was using the digital menu (which never works at any Canna Cabana I've been to, this one as well) while I walked around looking for my next ounce. Since the screen doesn't work the lady had to walk across the whole store (super slowly) to get the requested items. She did this one by one about 4 times. Back and forth. When I thought she was done I spoke up and said "could I get this one...." And was cut off by "We are not done here yet!". I apologized for my ignorance and let her finish. Afterwards, she never bothered to ask what I was looking for so I decided to get my once somewhere else.
This isn't the first Canna Cabana that I've visited and definitely not the first with bad customer service. I don't know why they insist on hiring the meanest people alive.
Have some passion for what you do! You're selling weed legally for christ sakes! We are so lucky to have this experience. Don't force us back to the gray market. Uplift the industry by being the best example you can be. This however is only showing Canada that we don't deserve to have this luxury.
This is my favourite weed store, even though I live closer to another shop. I would rather drive to this one. They have good staff, Jesse comes to aid promptly. I find Jesse's knowledge, friendliness, and dedication to his job very impressive. Most people don't care about their jobs, and it is nice to find some one doing excellent work that their proud of. Cheers cana Cabana
I got kicked out of the store because my car lights were too bright upon arriving. I was asked abruptly to turn my lights off when entering the store I let them know no worries and locked the car automatically turning them off faster than the auto turn off, both staff ran to the back whispering. I mentioned to a friend that the interaction was strange, it's a parking lot and the windows have banners preventing such occurance. The staff came storming out from the back screaming if we didn't like it then we can leave. It was all a little bit strange especially as a local who frequents the store often. Unfortunately after visiting the store next door when getting in the car the staff member then prevented me from leaving the store and started taking photos of my car. It was a very strange instance with an employee I've never seen before at 9:30 on Remembrance Day. I understand that the service industry can be a difficult one but honestly the reaction and the yelling to get out after locking the car and turning the lights off was a bit off the wall. As a worker talking to a customer. Best to leave the home life at home instead of taking it out on random customers for parking in a parking lot…
I'm a long time local and changing my review to 1 star.
I got off work on Oct 15, at 9:30pm and was at the store by 9:40pm. I had a terrible experience with the rude woman closing the store. First, the store was closed well before advertised hours, with no signage indicating an early store closure. Please see the attached images of the store hours and the sign indicating the staff went on break-leave 30minutes before close. Note this is not store closure, and extremely poor etiquette for an employee to display when acting as closer.
Second, the woman was extremely rude. She laughed at me through the windows mouthing, "I can't hear you, we're closed" while taping an imaginary watch. This felt insulting and condescending. This is extremely poor behaviour for any employee to display to their clients and customers. I was not the only witness. There were 3 other people that were turned away in a similar fashion as I was leaving between 9:50 and 9:55pm.
This series of interactions, left me unable to get to another dispensary. All dispensaries in Canmore close at 10pm. I had to drive from Canmore to BANFF and BACK at 10:00pm. I didn't get back in until 11pm, plus gas money.
I have talked with the Banff manager and will be following up with the Canmore store manager. These types of interactions should not happen.

- Will
