Recently moved to Leduc so I'm in search of a new dispensary, I came into the store and was greeted pleasantly by two lady's who asked how I was and what I was looking for. I told them I was new to the shop and its menu style and they kindly pointed out their very detailed menu. Once I made my choices they told me about there member ships and checked me out pretty quick. This first impression was great and now will be my new store for all marijuana purchases!
Absolutely infuriating experience at Canna Cabana. It's 2025, and these guys are still operating like it's 1999 with a ridiculous "membership" model. They keep a significant portion of their products behind a paywall, essentially forcing you to cough up a $35/year subscription fee just to access them.
Their official justification? "Our Elite Membership program offers exclusive pricing on a select group of products, in line with both company policy and provincial regulations. These rules limit us from offering certain discounted items to non-Elite members."
Seriously? Did it ever cross their minds to just charge market price for these "exclusive" items instead of alienating a huge chunk of potential customers? It's baffling. The claim that "provincial regulations" force them to hide discounts behind a paywall, while "hundreds of other great products" are available, doesn't make the paywall any less frustrating.
I walked out, went to another dispensary, and found the exact same product without any hassle, no subscription, no annual fee, just a straightforward transaction. Save yourself the frustration and your hard-earned money. There are plenty of other stores that actually want your business without making you jump through hoops or sign up for an "Elite Membership."
Edit: crazy concept, still offer the product to the public at a higher non-discount price.
Refused to sell me a product because it was elite members only and that I need a $35 yearly subscription to purchase it. I'll take my money elsewhere.
